TOUR USA NINE ELEVEN Page 2
The pathway we have been looking for to get to heaven has been found. The mystery has been solved. He is the only way to the Father and be right with God. His blood can cleanse us from all sin. And that means all sin. The only way a holy God can let us into heaven is if we are clean of all of the sin we have committed in our lifetime. That is why our “good works” will never be enough to allow us into the presence of an all-holy God. If we are trusting our good deeds to gain us entrance into heaven, we try to look good on the outside. On the inside, however, we are still filthy and horrible because we are still breaking the Ten Commandments day by day. The Bible says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he” (Proverbs 29:18). God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). If a vision cannot be clearly articulated it may not be from God. We must keep in mind that the Bible is finished, and it tells us everything we need to know. The key truth is that if God were to give a vision, it would agree completely with what He has already revealed in His Word. Since this very Word of God reveals that “sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4), those who encourage the breaking of God’s law, teaching that it is done away-as nearly all sects, and denominations do, who shall now understand? “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments” (Psalms 111:10). Are you afraid of the Truth? “O, Lord, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servant’s sake, the tribes of thine inheritance” (Isaiah 63:17). The error of the past is the wisdom of the future. Habakkuk 2: 2-3 reads, “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie”. Real fear, the Truth; pass it on. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). Suppose we saw a vision of an angel who told us our sins were forgiven. Would that be enough to calm our fears? Would you say, “Yes that would be fine-an angel would do it.” But suppose on your deathbed Satan came and said, “I was that angel: I transformed myself to deceive you” (2 Corinthians 11:14). What would you do? God has given us something more dependable than visions of angels. He has given us His unchanging Word. Forgiveness takes place in the heart of the offended, not in the heart of the offender (Jeremiah 31:31-34). God does not cure your sinful heart, He does a heart transplant and gives you a brand new righteous one. “A new heart also will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them” (Ezekiel 36:26-27). God warns us not to be deceived today because only he who practices righteousness is righteous (1 John 3:7). The righteousness of Christ and the Holy Spirit within us empower us to walk according to God’s standards. No man can question God’s actions (Romans 9:19-21). To do so puts man on equality with God. All men come from the same lump of sinful clay. If left alone, they would all perish. God is the Potter. He comes in to His house and shows mercy to some. Those who are willing to listen and obey His Word. The truth is God does not want anyone to miss out. God “will have all men to be saved, and come unto the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). This is not just an intellectual admission, but an intimate knowledge of truth that transforms our lives. We can clearly see God’s desire for us to know truth when we read about the work of the Holy Spirit in John 16:13-14, “When the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.” The reality of the gospel is plain to people who seek the truth because we are made in His image and His law is written on our hearts.” For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of the spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). The Apostle Paul would say in Romans 15:4 that, “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. “It is through the learning and understanding of the Word of God that you have hope about your life. So what we are going to be doing is; we are going to be looking at a thing written aforetime, and out of that thing written aforetime we are going to learn something about the character; the work; the love of God that is going to create comfort for us right now. Some interesting things start to happen once you become a bible true seeker. God says; “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else (Isaiah 45:22). In Hebrews 8:10, the writer repeated God’s promise of the New Covenant from Jeremiah 31:33, “I will put my laws in their mind and write them in their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” It is by faith the Ten Commandments of God are established in our hearts. Faith means that people trust God to utilize the methods He ordains to accomplish the outcomes He intends. The believer’s role is to follow God’s lead and carry out His instructions in obedience. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and He will direct your paths.” Traveling through the darkness of the world, where would we be without God? He is light (1 John 1:5), and His Word is the only lamp able to direct our steps (Psalms 119:105). Jesus instructed us to “…seek first the kingdom of God…” (Matthew 6:33). Man is to love God’s truth and seek for it. Many among us today never search the scriptures seeking for God’s truth. Those who love God have a daily appointment with Him to study and meditate upon His Word. “Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life” (John 5:39). We need to understand and accept that sin separated us from God (Roman 3:23, Colossians 1:19-22). Separation from God robs us of eternal life with Him. “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning…” (1 John 3:8). Man belonged to our Lord through creation. We were fully and completely His, but we ran away and got lost. We ended up in a prison made by our own sin, but Jesus knew where we were and came to get us. He paid for our freedom from sin with His life. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: … By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;” (1 Peter 3:18-19). God’s grace extends to everyone. All have sinned! Our Lord reaches out to His sheep when we stray. If we hearken to His voice, He not only forgives, but He also restores us and puts us back to work in His kingdom. Sin is the junk that clutters our consciences and makes our lives useless in God’s kingdom. The state of a kingdom revolves around the state of the King. The same is true in the kingdom of my heart. The state of my life depends on the state of the One enthroned in my heart. Each one of us can choose to allow our most loving Father to mold us into the person that we were intended to become. We can choose to serve Him because of what He did for us by sending His only son to become sin and die on the cross for our sins. We can become more like Him, precious and special, because we were made in His image, the Lord of lords and the King of kings. When Pilate asked Jesus, “Art thou a king then, (John 18:37)”, instead of being convicted by Pilate’s questions, Jesus turned to become Pilate’s judge. He told Pilate that He was a king, but only people who had a heart to see the truth would know this. “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32). Jesus is the living Word (John 1:1). The seed of the kingdom is the Word of God (Luke 8:11). “Father, sanctify them in thy truth, Thy Word is truth,” (John 17:17). Truth is a person-and Christ claimed that prerogative, “I am… the truth,” (John 14:6). When we walk in the truth of our loving Savior, He will indeed set us free. I pray by God’s grace, to present the most beautiful Jesus you may have ever seen by presenting the truth of God’s law. What do I mean?-we will find that the Ten Commandment Law of God is really a transcript, a mirror-image reflection of God’s own character of love. It amazes me how mixed up our thinking has become. Many people today consider keeping all of the Ten Commandments as “being under bondage.” That certainly was not the Apostle Paul’s attitude.” …The law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good…For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man” (Romans 7:12,22). The Lord Himself had taught that man may destroy one’s body, but he cannot destroy the soul (Matthew 10:28). The inner man is accountable to the law of God, and is capable of being strengthened by divine influence through sacred truth (Ephesians 3:16; 6:17). God gave the Ten Commandments to show men that they are sinners, not to save them. The law is like a mirror, it shows a man that his face is dirty, but it will not wash his face for him. Jesus came to show us that God was not just a God of rules and regulations, but that He was also loving, kind, and giving. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Jesus becomes flesh for our sake (Philippians 2:5-8). He came to make it possible for man to receive the nature of God; eternal life (John 10:10). The very nature of man was changed from one of righteousness or eternal life into one of spiritual death-from the nature of God to the nature of Satan. Spiritual law decrees that every living thing brings forth after its own kind. Adam and Eve were the parents of all human life and by them sin nature was born into all men. This spiritual death eventually brought physical death. If Adam had not died spiritually, he would never have died physically. Jesus could not get a man born again while He was on the earth. He had the power to forgive sins, but there could be no new creatures until Jesus paid the sin price at Calvary and became the firstborn from the dead. “For since by man come death, by man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:21, 22). Jesus says, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit… God is a Spirit…It is the Spirit who gives life; and the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 3:6, 4:24, 6:63). Then farther in John 11:25, 26, Jesus confessed, “I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live; And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die…” Jesus wants to be the doorway to new life for you.
